Trump may have ‘stolen’ $3 Billion from the American people in first 100 days of Presidency

Scott Galloway called it the greatest grift in the history of the American economy. In a May 2025 appearance on the Pivot podcast, the NYU professor and entrepreneur said the Trump family’s net worth rose by about $3 billion in the first 100 days of the second term — “a billion dollars a month” — largely through the $TRUMP meme coin and related crypto vehicles. He used the word “stolen.”

Galloway’s number tracks the reported jump in the Trump family’s net worth after inauguration, driven by crypto products launched just before and after January 20, 2025. It is not $3 billion taken from federal accounts or appropriated funds. It is private-market activity: meme coins, licensing fees, trading fees, and stakes in World Liberty Financial and related tokens.

Later reporting put investor losses higher. A Nansen analysis cited by The New York Times found nearly a million $TRUMP buyers underwater by about $3.8 billion through June 2026. Public Citizen’s August 2026 tally across several Trump-linked crypto products put investors at least $4.7 billion underwater, with the meme coin accounting for most of it. Meanwhile, Trump’s own 2025 financial disclosure showed hundreds of millions — and in some tallies well over a billion — in crypto-related income that year.
