A new class-action lawsuit aimed at Jeffrey Epstein’s seized media collection has collided with an older claim that the financier recorded Donald Trump.
Jeffrey Epstein’s estate is facing a new lawsuit filed by two women who allege that Epstein possessed child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of them. They want a judge to order that a program be set up to identify and notify all individuals whose “unlawful sexualized images” might have been in Epstein’s collection, and are also seeking monetary damages.
The filing says the material seized from his properties includes a so-called modeling book of sexualized images of children plus more than 10,000 downloaded videos and images of illegal child sexual abuse material and other pornography.
- The defendants are Darren Indyke and Richard Kahn, named solely as co-executors of the estate. The plaintiffs want three things that matter for the current speculation:
- A full preservation and accounting of all materials seized from Epstein’s properties.
- Monetary damages (the complaint seeks at least $6 million on behalf of a proposed class that lawyers say could grow well beyond the initial estimate of more than 40 identifiable people).
Attorney Hillary Nappi has said the goal is “accountability and identification.” Many people whose images appear in the files, she argued, still have no idea they are in them. Margaret Mabie, another lawyer on the case, noted that a government report on the collection identified hits on known series and that, to the plaintiffs’ knowledge, none of those victims had ever been notified.
That demand for a complete accounting of every seized video and image is the legal lever people are now pointing to.

In 2016 emails to then-New York Post columnist Maureen Callahan, Epstein accuser Sarah Ransome wrote that Epstein recorded encounters involving high-profile men, including Trump, and that she had seen footage of an unnamed friend. Those emails became public when a batch of documents from Virginia Giuffre’s lawsuit against Ghislaine Maxwell was unsealed in January 2024.

How the new lawsuit could theoretically “open the door”
The new complaint does not mention Trump, Ransome, or any celebrity blackmail tape. It is a CSAM-victim notification and damages case. The speculative link is narrower and more procedural.
Plaintiffs are asking a federal judge to force the estate (and, by extension, to put pressure on the government agencies that hold the physical evidence) to catalog everything taken from Epstein’s homes and offices. That catalog would include every video file, not only the images already flagged as known child-sexual-abuse series. If any recording matching the old Ransome description actually sits in the seized collection, an accounting order, discovery, or in-camera review could require the parties and the court to acknowledge that a specific file exists.
That is the “open the door” argument: a lawsuit that treats the entire seized media library as one body of evidence makes it harder to leave particular videos unexamined. Lawyers for a class of depicted victims have a direct interest in knowing what is in the vault.
