Trump did Pay for play Mafia Corruption

President Donald Trump’s meme-coin venture has launched another contest offering top holders of the $TRUMP token an invitation to what organizers call “the most exclusive dinner in the world,” prompting critics to label the arrangement a pay-for-play scheme that sells access tied to the presidency.

The contest, promoted this week on the coin’s website and discussed in an MS NOW segment, invites the top 185 holders of $TRUMP to a Nov. 22 event at Trump National Golf Club outside Washington. Organizers describe it as “an evening with 3 Legends and President Donald J. Trump.” The top 29 holders are also offered a VIP reception “with YOUR FAVORITE PRESIDENT,” and the top four are promised an 18-karat Trump-branded gold watch, along with other items such as fragrance and commemorative material.

Scoring runs on a time-weighted leaderboard from roughly Sept. 30 through Nov. 12, so larger holdings held longer rank higher. The site states that no attendees will receive a private meet-and-greet with the president and that no gifts will be accepted. Reporting on the promotion has noted that securing a competitive ranking could require holdings on the order of $1 million or more in the token, depending on market conditions and other participants.

The $TRUMP coin, launched around Trump’s 2025 inauguration, has traded far below its early peak. One report put it near $2, roughly 97 percent below a January 2025 high around $75. Critics and prior coverage have said Trump-linked entities have collected substantial sums from trading activity and related ventures even as many buyers lost value.

This is a sequel to a May 2025 dinner at a Trump golf club for the top holders of the same coin. That event drew similar criticism from ethics observers and Democratic lawmakers, who described it as an advertised competition in which large purchases of a Trump-linked token bought proximity to the president. Foreign and domestic buyers participated; one widely noted attendee, crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun, had spent tens of millions on the token and ranked at the top of that leaderboard.

MS NOW’s segment framed the new contest as politically tone-deaf, with discussion centered on the open link between buying the president’s meme coin and an invitation to dine with him. Commentators and ethics critics have called the pattern textbook pay-to-play: access scaled to how much of a personally branded asset someone holds, at a private club associated with the president, while policy affecting crypto remains under an administration that has taken a lighter regulatory approach to the sector. The White House has previously said Trump’s investment accounts are independently managed and has referred questions about the coin events to the hosting companies, which are affiliates of the Trump Organization.

Supporters of the promotions treat them as private commercial events and marketing for a speculative token, not official government business. Opponents argue that when the sitting president is the featured draw and the asset carries his name, the distinction collapses, creating a channel for anyone—including foreign interests—to move money toward entities tied to him in exchange for face time. No criminal charges have been filed over the contests. The arrangement remains a political and ethics dispute rather than an adjudicated corruption case.
