DOJ was Just Forced to handover FBI notes in connection with a woman who says Trump raped her when she was 13

A federal judge has ordered the Justice Department to produce or formally justify withholding handwritten FBI interview notes tied to a woman who told agents in 2019 that Jeffrey Epstein introduced her to Donald Trump in the early 1980s, when she was about 13 to 15, and that Trump then sexually assaulted her. The notes sit at the center of a transparency fight under the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

The allegation itself is not new. It first surfaced publicly in a 2016 civil lawsuit filed under the pseudonym Katie Johnson/Jane Doe.

What is new is the paper trail from four FBI interviews conducted after Epstein’s 2019 arrest, the partial public release of the interview summaries (FD-302s), the subsequent discovery that dozens of pages were missing from the mandated dump of millions of Epstein-related records, and a journalist’s lawsuit that has now produced court orders aimed at the remaining material.

What the released summaries say

The woman, whose identity remains redacted, told agents she lived on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Her mother worked in real estate and placed a babysitting advertisement. Epstein responded. She described repeated abuse by Epstein starting around age 13. In later interviews she said Epstein transported her to a “very tall building” in New York or New Jersey and introduced her to Trump. According to the 302s, Trump asked others to leave the room, made a remark to the effect of “Let me teach you how little girls are supposed to be,” unzipped his pants, and forced her head toward him. She said she bit him. He then struck her (one later clarification described pulling her hair and punching the side of her head) and had her removed. She also recounted overhearing comments about blackmail and money-laundering through casinos.

Agents interviewed her on July 24, August 7, August 20, and October 16, 2019. The first session focused on Epstein and did not mention Trump in the initially released summary. The later sessions contained the Trump account. An anonymous Justice Department source later told the Miami Herald that agents found her believable enough to sit with her four times. She ultimately declined further cooperation, telling agents she saw little point given how long ago the events occurred. The FBI did not open a standalone criminal investigation of the Trump allegation. Trump has categorically denied the claims, as he has other accusations linked to Epstein.
